HIMANI HIMALAYA TREKS AND TOURS

Share Your Experience With Us

Two times I have tried to go to Goche-la and the two times were very particular travel, with Vishall. The first time the weather was no good. The guide was secure and did not take any risk it was a cultural trip with a lot of adaptation by Vishall. But Sikkim has a lot of beautiful monasteries and Darjeeling is a mythic city for me.
The second time was a good time to see Khangchendzonga and the sunrise. And Vishal organized everything working with his team, talking about Himalayas, Bhutan, music, philosophy and so on. It was a permanent exchange.
Thank you Vishall for showing your country to us and to want to live and work in this part of the world.

We found it very pleasant that Mr Vishal Chamling knew the mountain area in which we were travelling during the trekking days extremely well.

It is not always easy to orient oneself in mountains in a foreign country. On top of that hardly any really good maps are available for Sikkim on which the distances are also actually drawn to scale.
It was astonishing how accurately Vishal correctly named the mountain peaks, from no matter which perspective.
He selected the walking tempo with discretion and empathy and accurately observed if any of us was not doing so well “with it”.
Of course he knew what to do for the best with any cases of altitude sickness and was very careful that nobody in our group succumbed to this type of problem.

The care with which he had put together the porters, cooks, and equipment for the seven days of trekking inspired us. The same applied for the choice of hotels in which we were accommodated during the sightseeing days. Our group was making our fifth trekking/sightseeing tour together, but we have never experienced such perfection and excellent service. The cooking skills of the head chef “Pala” were outstanding, and both creative and sensible regarding consideration of the unaccustomed sharpness for European palates of the spices used in India.
The porters and helpers were all very young. Their behaviour and relationships, both in life on the mountains and in the services offered was perfect.

"We spent one week together with our guide Vishal Chamling in Sikkim and Darjeeling. He really was an extraordinary guide and a very good representative of  Himalayan people. He was always polite, friendly and very helpful. His knowledge about nature, culture, religion, people and history was very extensive, profound and complete. He was able to explain all these facts to us in a interesting way in a perfect English Since that time he learnt the German language and he is very fit in German too.
Vishal is not only an excellent tour guide - one of the best we ever had ( and we travel o lot around the world) - he also is a very good author of short stories. He should publish them!
We recommand Vishal as a competent tour guide to every traveller, who is really interested in the Himalayan region. We hope to meet him again for a next trip.

Vishal Chamling was our guide for a two week holiday of a lifetime. We started in Darjeeling where he showed us all the sights, including Kangchenjunga at dawn from Tiger Hill. He then travelled with us by car up to Sikkim and the high Himalayas. He was very good company and knowledgeable about all the places we visited, including the history, the culture and architecture. He took us to some wonderful places, monasteries, markets, restaurants and more.

We could not have had a better guide. He was pleasant and helpful at all times and we have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone travelling to a fantastic area of the world.
