Tourist Visa-On-Arrival

The Government of India has started to facilitate Tourist Visa-On-Arrival on a pilot basis for a period of one year, starting Jan, 01.2010.
The new scheme is available for citizens with valid passports from the following countries:

Finland
Japan
Luxembourg
New Zealand
Singapore

Visitors from these countries will be given Visa-On-Arrival who are in India for specific purpose of tourism (recreation, sightseeing, visiting friends and relatives). However, they must also fulfill other criteria for grant of normal tourist visas to India such as assured financial standing (production of return ticket and proof of availability of sufficient funds to spend in India) and passport of at least six month validity and re-entry permit, if required.

Validity: Single entry only for a period for 30 days (non-extendable and non-convertible)
Issued at: designated International Airports in India at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai
Important: only two entries permissible per calender year
Fee: USD 60 or equivalent in INR

Visa-On-Arrival is Not Issued to

Citizen of the above countries who was, or whose parents or grand parents (maternal or paternal) were born in, and were permanent resident in Pakistan.
Persons holding Diplomatic/Official passports
Resident of India or works in India
Person declared persona non grata by Govt. of India
Person subject of a blacklist, warning circulars or restictive list

Multiple Entry Facility to Long Term Visa granted to following countries:

Spain, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Vietnam.

Off the beaten tracks
